Grandmas 80th birthday
Grandma had always said that she wanted to visit York and York Minster. Mum and I hatched a plan to take her as a surprise on her 80th birthday. I decorated the car with balloons and banners saying ‘Happy 80th Birthday’ she took one look at them and said she was going to get for that as she didn’t want to let everyone knowing her true age (I think this is because she could always pass for much, much younger and in heart and spirit she was always 21) But then and cheeky approving smiling came across her face to show really deep down she approved and was proud that we were making a fuss of her. I took her round to mums and then nipped back to Grans to decorate her home with balloons and banners. We got in the car and I could see Grans eyes looking at the motorway signs trying to figure out where we were going. Then her whole face lit up when she started to see the signs for York, then we told her was going to York. We had a fabulous day riding on the tour bus and getting off at the different places to visit, then we went to York minster I never seen anyone look so amazed and oar inspired by what they were seeing. This is only one my favourite memories of my fabulous times with my wonderful Grandma
